The Lindsborg Swedish Folk Dancers 2018 Chicago Tour was packed with activities from start to finish. The tour kicked off at the Swedish American Museum in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. LSFD performed, exchanged dances, and enjoyed a wonderful Swedish pancake lunch with all the fixings.
Next up was the Sweden Vast celebration in Geneva, Illinois. LSFD performed, processed, and the highlight, of course, was the raising of the traditional Swedish May Pole.
Chicagoland’s IKEA was the site of another performance and another wonderful meal. The great Swedish shopping experience was also a highlight!
While in Chicago, everyone also enjoyed a Chicago boat tour, Giordanos Pizza, the John Hancock 360 degree tilt observation tower, and exploring the Magnificent Mile. Seeing the musical Hamilton was an amazing and educational experience!
The tour concluded with a heartwarming visit to Swedesburg Iowa. LSFD contributed to their Swedish Midsummer Festival through performances, singing, fellowship, and an educational tour of their wonderful Swedish museum. A truly WONDERFUL experience to end a successful and enjoyable tour.
